Supernatural: Season 8 comes to the UK

After what feels like an eternity of waiting, the eight season of hit TV show Supernatural finally returns to TV in the UK, airing on Sky Living with two episodes, Wednesday 3rd July. Of course American fans have already watched season 8 in its entirety and are now gearing up for season 9, which will return to American TV screens 9th October.

The Winchester brothers are shocked when they discover a naked Bobby in the boot of their car...
Just kidding, or am I?

For those oblivious to what Supernatural is all about here's a brief rundown...

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) are not just brothers but also hunters, they travel the length and breadth of the US hunting and slaying demons, ghosts and mythological creatures while constantly bickering and playing pranks on one another. The previous 7 seasons have seen a LOT of action for the siblings, both serious and comedic. They have both, individually spent time in heaven and hell, faced Lucifer himself, watched many loved ones and friends die, been chased by small dogs (funny episode), prankster demons, gods, vampires, ghosts, demons, leviathans... the list goes on, and on.

What makes the show work, more than anything is the on-screen relationship between the brothers, who quibble and fight like real brothers, but also poke fun at each others failings and play the odd occasional prank.

Season 8 starts off with Dean, having spent a year in purgatory returning to Earth to find his brother Sam has given up hunting and is now enjoying a normal life, though dont expect that to last for long!

Thanks to Sky for the news!
